Antoinette Designs

Jewelry by Erika Wallace Rooth

After almost 8 years of simply working, I have decided to take the plunge into working at what I love; making pretty, shiny things out of silver and stones! I live just west of Toronto with my brilliant illustrator husband and our two children-in-fur, making fine silver jewelry in my tiny, cosy studio. Extensive studies in fine arts and design have given me the smarts and skills to work in a wide variety of media, and while jewelry design is my primary preoccupation, graphic design, oil painting and watercolor illustration remain constant flirts. I am constantly ‘lit up’ by nature, be it from a weekend spent camping, or simply watching the birds and the ditch grasses on my drive to my part-time job, and hiking with my husband is a favorite pastime. My time spent outdoors inevitably inspires more jewelry, more paintings, and much more day-dreaming. Being able to make pretty, shiny things is a dream come true, and I have my husband to thank, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting me in living this crazy cool dream (and for being the best part of it.) When we aren’t working on our current creative endeavors, we earnestly practice our cosy lessons with our two cats, drink coffee, dream of Newfoundland, and read comics with impunity.

Soap Scum

Soaps by Jennifer LoveGrove

Soap Scum creates unique and affordable handmade soaps for gift-giving, personal indulgence, private parties and in bulk as wedding favours. These quirky soaps are not only cheeky and unusual, but are made without animal products or testing, and the 100% vegetable-based soap base is vegan-friendly. It is a new Toronto-based project, created and operated solely by one crafty gal, Jennifer LoveGrove.

Soap Scum primarily uses the melt and pour soap-making technique, and incorporates an array of herbs, florals, seeds, grains, essential oils, plastic toys, and even printed acetate into its various products.

Soap Scum has appeared, with success and popularity, at various independent craft shows and fundraisers since its inception in 2005, including Crafternoon Tea, The Last Minute Craft Fair, City of Craft, The SpeakEasy Holiday Show, The Sassy Little Craft Show, the Parkdale Arts and Crafts Show, and Arts at the Heart artisan market in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square.

Soap Scum soaps are popular with adults and children alike, and feature a range of styles - not all are adult-themed!

Voodoo Bunny Creations

Crafts by Paula Hilts

I come from a very crafty family. I do a wide range of crafts like sewing, crochet, knitting etc. I am a bit of a fabric/wool hound. One of our two bedrooms is dedicated to my “stuff”. I like working with almost any material, but love vintage and recycled the best. I enjoy making things that are truly one of a kind. Unusual stuffed animals are my biggest passion, followed closely by recycled/vintage material purses. Two of my sisters and I participated in the Maker’s Market throughout the year, including the big Christmas one. I also participated in the Mustard festival and Mac Fair. I have been doing crafts for as long as I can remember and activly selling for the past year.
